Amerika - Home of the Regulated; permit now required for Bible study

According to FOX News, a couple in CA are ordered cease and desist their Bible study with friends. That is until they get a permit from the new god of the land -government.

Cited by the comrades at the government office were "unlawful use of land" and "religious assembly". That's right folks. You don't really own your land, the government does, and they are becoming a less tolerant landlord. Oh, and that little part in the U.S. Constitution that says the government cannot prohibit the free exercise of religion, they tossed that out with the remaining shreds of the document that limits government authority and power to the defense of individual liberty.

Here is a video of an interview with the bad couple that thinks they can worship God without the god of the state getting its due:

Let's stop being complacent and apathetic. Let's reign the government back into its constitutional bounds.

The 1st Amendment to the Constitution states:

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peacefully to assemble, and to petition the Government for redress of grievances.

Freedom Watch with Judge Napolitano 5/27/09

Napolitano has absolutely the best political and economics lineup. This show currently streams on the internet every Wednesday, but I hear Fox is thinking of putting the Judge's show on TV. Freedom Watch is definitely the place to go for the condensed constitutional / libertarian viewpoint of the issues of the day.

Most political shows, including radio, offer you a left vs. right paradigm that always ends in advocacy of big government solutions to the problems of the day. Sometimes the solution coming from the right is to restrict your personal liberties, while the solution from the left is to restrict your financial liberties. Therefore, the paradigm is false; leading only to big government and loss of liberties. We've all seen it before: supposed "conservatives" who say that we have to violate free-market principles in order to save the free-market., then supposed "liberals" who say we need to restrict economic freedoms in order to make "fair" for the collective.

If you want to break out of the false left/right paradigm and move towards liberty -towards peace, freedom and prosperity, then the Judge's show is a great place to not only start, but to get a weekly condensed version of what the greatest minds in the freedom movement, libertarian politics and Austrian economics have to say about the issues of the day. They even provide archived shows on their website, listed below.

Rand Paul in Frankfort KY 5-23-09

"For every ounce of government you get, you give up an ounce of freedom". -Dr. RAND Paul

"You cannot set the price of a good.... only the market can determine that". -Rand Paul

In the speech, Rand quotes Barry Goldwater:

"I have little interest in streamlining government or in making more efficient, for I mean to reduce its size. I do not undertake to promote welfare, for I propose to extend freedom. My aim is not to is not to pass laws, but to repeal them. It is not to inaugurate new programs, but to cancel the old ones that do violence to the Constitution, or that have failed in their purpose, or that impose on the people an unwarranted financial burden. I will not attempt to discover whether legislation is 'needed' before I have first determined whether it is constitutionally permissible. And if I should later be attacked for neglecting my constituents' interests', I shall reply that I was informed their main interest is liberty and that in that cuse I am doing the very best I can." -Barry Goldwater

Judge throws out FOX News lawsuit against the Federal Reserve, saying "I don't want blood on my hands"

This was according to Judge Andrew Napolitano on Freedom Watch today.

Lew Rockwell was on the phone with the Judge when the news broke, and he said the fear was well founded (implying the danger of confronting the thugs at the big bank), but was saddened to see a Judge fall prey to those fears.

The suit was based on failure of the Fed, the Treasury, and the SEC to comply with Freedom of Information Act requests.

Again, a judge, citing what sounds like fear of physical, political, or economic danger to someone, throws out a suit against the Fed. Has our government and the Fed become the Mafia?

The show where the news broke is running live on the internet right now, and will be archived later. You will be able to listen to the comments of this news breaking at: http://www.freedomwatchonfox.com

Update: Here is the video. The whole show is good, with the commentators actually discussing the Federal Reserve from the start of the show. This specific news item come up at 7:30 minutes into the show:

Gov. Mark Sanford on "Libertarian" -He says he is one.

At the same event, Senator Graham said "I am not a Constitutionalist". I would suggest that is why we need to send people like Graham packing. One Republican delegate at the SC state convention called Graham a hypocrite. This is a positive sign. Grass roots Republicans may be waking up and readying for a needed purge of many big government and philosophically void representatives like Graham.

Missouri rejects federal Real ID Act!

According to Leed Logan, at the AP: "Missouri lawmakers on Wednesday voted to direct the Department of Revenue to not comply with federal driver's license requirements.

The article states that argument against the Real ID is that it is an unwelcome intrusion into privacy and that it could also increase identity theft. No kidding!

The Real ID is part of a trend, that I am very happy to see people standing against. The trend is towards a more and more centrally regulated society that is less self-reliant, and more totalitarian.

Montana has Nullified Federal Gun Laws -victory for liberty

Read the bill here.

After invoking the 10th, 9th and 2nd amendments to the U.S. Constitution, and then further invoking Article II, section 12 of the the Montana constitution, the bill states: "A personal firearm, a firearm accessory, or ammunition that is manufactured commercially or privately in Montana and that remains within the boarders of Montana is not subject to federal law or federal regulation, including registration, under the authority of congress to regulate interstate commerce."

Montana puts one on the board for liberty! We should all urge our states to do the same.

Oath Keeper, Sheriff Richard Mack

I love it:

"The President of the United States cannot tell your Sheriff what to do." -Sheriff Richard Mack

"I pray for the day when a Sheriff in this country will arrest an IRS agent for trespassing, or attempting to victimize citizens in that particular Sheriff's county." -Sheriff Richard Mack

The Mack/Printz Supreme Court Case: http://www.oyez.org/cases/1990-1999/1996/1996_95_1478/?sort=ideology

The outcome of the case: "The Court constructed its opinion on the old principle that state legislatures are not subject to federal direction."

Will you or won't you stand against tyranny?
